Prometheus

The last pieces of human knowledge should be contained underground, hard to reach, and away from human and natural dangers. Therefore its location should be arid and vast, as is the Salar de Uyuni, in Bolivia. The context protects its value by creating confusion and perception tricks to new users. The entrance is finally revealed one week during the month of February. Upon entrance one would encounter a museum that disobeys normal rules and conventional behavior, with countless shelves of physical books and digital trans coding information. Its form is developed through an L system of self multiplication and structurally contained by a reflective framework that blurs the understanding of its physical appearance. The monument grows one neuron as knowledge is acquired world round and a new framework is added every thousand years. The Library of Prometheus is not just an intelligent being that documents, creates and expands the extending knowledge of humanity, but it is also a monument to inspire and reflect on the scale of the knowledge itself.
